Narendra Modi’s Sisyphean Quest for Global Coronavirus Cooperation

On March 13, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted about convening with the members of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and in doing so, setting an example of multilateralism for the world. The Indian leader is trying to do two heavy lifts at once: positioning India as a leader in crafting global responses to the coronavirus even while attempting to combat it at home.
